Explore the Erzgebirge in miniature at the Klein-Erzgebirge Oederan. The oldest miniature park in the world invites young and old alike to enjoy the idyllic green spaces of the town park. In addition to the many lovingly created replicas of Erzgebirge structures and scenery, a ‘barefoot path’ and a large play area are also waiting to be discovered.

Hiking and exercise

The well-marked hiking trails around Oederan meander through dense mixed forests, vast meadows, peaceful valleys and gentle hills, with plenty of viewing points dotted along the way. Various routes lead to the deer park at Breitenau, the alpaca farm at Memmendorf, the Hetzdorf viaduct with bastion or the nature discovery trail in Stadtwald forest.

Tobogganing and ice skating

If Old Mother Frost has done her job properly, the surrounding hills are transformed into the perfect place for winter tobogganing. In Breitenau (Falkenauer Straße), there is even a lift that regularly transports snow bunnies up the mountain.

Those who would rather keep on their toes can use the ice rink (with ice skate hire) on the market square.

The Evangelical Lutheran congregation also hosts special mornings for toddlers, young children and their families every six weeks in the Deaconry at the church. The dates for these can be found in the newsletter on the parish website: www.kirche-oederan.de

Children aged from 4-6 years are welcome to attend the children’s group at the Deaconry every Friday from 15:00 – 16:15 (except during Saxon school holidays).
